Kitchen
remodel in Shoreview
Our
client's love cooking, entertaining, wine, & Italy.
Our challenge was to give them the Tuscan kitchen
in their Shoreview home they had dreamed about.
We worked closely with them to incorporate various elements such
as stone tiles, arches, and a mix of woods and aged finishes. The
result was an old world kitchen with relaxed and casual elegance.
We
removed walls that previously separated the
dining room and the kitchen. Since one of them
was a load bearing wall, we needed to install a
header which could be supported by a round
column. We also needed to relocate the heat
duct inside one of the walls. Arches were then
created that were connected to the adjacent walls.
Our craftsmen also hand framed the existing
vaulted ceiling to create a unique backlit domed
kitchen ceiling which adds a gorgeous architectural
feature to the new kitchen.
The
rustic alder cabinets by Crystal were
designed to be both functional and charming with
glass doors, wine cubbies, and a custom designed
fluted arch valance. A center piece of the kitchen
is the custom crafted center island that was
created with a unique shape. Walnut banding and
handcrafted limestone tiles with deco metal insets
were used on the island and backsplash. Venetian
plaster walls and hand distressed walnut flooring
further helped to create the feeling of an Italian
villa.
